EC111 - Montessori Early Childhood Music and Movement

This course covers the rationale for music in the curriculum; rhythmic, vocal, and instrumental skills; and music appreciation and history. It also covers Montessori’s rationale for movement; basic gross motor skills; body awareness; and movement activities for line time and outdoors.

Gardening Practicum Seminar

Gardening: This class will give an overview o the importance of including gardening as a necessary part of Practical Life and Botany in the 3-6 environments. The adult learners will participate in hands-on garden/botanical experiences as well as be given a tour of the gardens (butterfly, flowering organic vegetable) and the abundant flora on the 10 acre campus of Summit-Questa Montessori School by the middle school students. EC104 - Montessori Early Childhood Social Studies

Social Studies: This course introduces the student to philosophy and rationale of geography, land & waters forms, globes, maps, flags and multi-cultural awareness in the Montessori early childhood classroom . History: time, calendar, seasons and personal history. Administration: This course covers all aspects of starting a new school including: licensing requirements, legal structure, budget & financial, accreditation, and the responsibilities of the school administrator, and the parent-school partnership.
